East-West Dialogues is a partnership building and quality improvement training for organizations that look for sustainable partnerships to set up new projects in the frame of the European Solidarity Corps.
East West Dialogues is a partnership building activity (PBA) and quality improvement training which is supported by a grant from the Dutch Erasmus+ National Agency. The activity will involve participants from 30 different organizations from Western Europe, Eastern Europe and partner countries. The training pays specific attention to developing new partnerships for volunteering projects under the European Solidarity Corps programme.
All partner and programme countries are eligible. The training programme is specifically geared to organizations that have already obtained an ESC Quality Label and are looking for new, sustainable partnerships. We welcome participants with limited experience in ESC project management and Erasmus+ funded activities, but a solid command of English is a prerequisite. Only participants from organizations with sufficient capacity and expertise to participate in future Erasmus+ funded activities are invited to apply.
During the training, participants will not only get to know each other, but also receive hands-on advice on improving ESC project management, volunteer recruitment and preparation, expectation management and crisis resolution. The programme is intended for both hosting and sending/coordinating organizations. During the programme, participants will together develop an ESC Quality Improvement Toolkit, consisting of practical tools and templates for drafting partnership agreements, activity agreements, recruitment of volunteers, mediation, mentoring and evaluating mobilities. Experienced application reviewers will give key advice on drafting the best applications with the highest chance of success. Participants will be selected with the aim of enhancing and supporting the cooperation between organisations from Programme Countries and Eastern Partnership countries.

Costs
Participation fee
This partnership building event is funded under the rules of an Erasmus+ Strategic EVS (2017) grant. This means that 80 % of the costs are covered by the grant.
Participants will therefore have to make a contribution to the costs of attending the training. The contribution consists of 20 % of your international travel costs and a non-refundable participation fee. This fee is € 200,- for participants from EU-15 programme countries, Norway and Switzerland, € 150,- for other programme countries and €100,- for partner countries. The participation fee covers:
- all transport in The Netherlands.
- all meals during the seminar (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, including drinks)
- Accommodation during the training (Thursday – Sunday) and accommodation one night before and one night after the training in Utrecht (in the center of The Netherlands).
- all training materials and other training related costs
Participants can extend their stay in The Netherlands if they wish, for € 30,- per day. Only accommodation and breakfast are provided. No other meals.
Accommodation and food
Participants will be accommodated in the modern and centrally located hostel StayOkay in Utrecht on Wednesday January 8. From there, all participants will jointly travel by train to the training venue Ommen on Thursday morning January 9. After the end of the training on Sunday January 12, participants can make use of the possibility to spend one more night in Utrecht before traveling home. Alternatively, they can take an evening flight on Sunday January 12 (if available).
All costs for accommodation and food are included in the participation fee and will be covered by the grant received from the Dutch National Agency.
Travel reimbursement
Travel costs by plane or train to The Netherlands as well as foreign in-country travel will be reimbursed for 80%. During the training, all travel in The Netherlands will be fully funded from the participation fee and the Dutch NA grant.
